Cornish Gems enjoy a record year

Management reports have indicated that 2013 was a bumper year with record sales recorded for one of the leading specialists in Cornish holiday lets. With a property portfolio that has increased by more than 35% since the beginning of the year  Cornish Gems should see out 2013 having achieved gross holiday sales worth £3,000,000 for property owners.

There has been significant re-investment of capital in the company this year, and they have also cemented future growth by recruiting key personnel and opened 2 new regional offices; their hybrid flagship office cum coffee lounge in St Ives and another in Carbis Bay, These will complement their HQ which is in Threemilestone in Truro.

2013 also saw Cornish Gems exceeding 4 and 5 star Quality in Tourism cleanliness benchmarks, with assessed properties achieving 98-100% for the standard of cleaning delivered by its in-house housekeeping division. Looking forward to the year ahead, advance sales for 2014 already indicate early success. Managing Co-Director Julianne Shelton is confident that all Cornish Gems property owners can be reassured by the fact that 20-25% of 2014’s bookings should be secured by 31st January 2014.

Julianne commented: “2013 has been a fantastic year for Cornish Gems.  Many factors have contributed to our success including the opening of two new regional offices, development of our new website, enhanced sales and marketing initiatives, plus the remarkable weather!

Julianne continued: “After a few previous years of wet weather, it was so encouraging to experience a heat-wave leading up to this summer.  This not only positively impacted holiday sales for Cornish Gems, but benefitted the tourism sector in Cornwall as a whole.”

Julianne added: “Having reflected on a very successful 2013, we are now looking forward to 2014.  One of our objectives for the year ahead is to carefully select 50 additional luxury holiday homes, cottages and apartments to join our successful portfolio. So we are encouraging owners with properties that offer the wow factor – which our guests expect – to contact us as soon as possible.”
